The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2024/2025) and members of the public, that the 74th Graduation Ceremony will be held PHYSICALLY on Thursday, December 11, 2025, commencing at 7.30 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court. The event will be streamed live through the following links;

The Faculty of Built Environment and Design stood out at the University of Nairobi’s 73rd Graduation Ceremony on Friday, September 19, 2025, with 407 students receiving their diplomas and degrees. The 407 awards from the faculty included 3 Diplomas, 402 Bachelor’s degrees, 35 Master’s, and 3 Doctor of Philosophy awards. Among the undergraduate degrees were 66 in Architectural Studies, 63 in Architecture, 50 in Quantity Surveying, and 47 in Planning.

The Department of Architecture hosted the 12th Annual East Africa Architecture Workshop and Exhibition from 25th to 28th August 2025 at ADD Building, Faculty of Built Environment and Design. The event explored the theme “Understanding the Concept of Sustainability in the Built Environment Today.”

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Owiti Abiero K’Akumu has been elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment and Design. Prof. K’Akumu brings a distinguished academic and research career grounded in Real Estate Development, with a specialized focus on Housing Quality and Urban Infrastructure. His expertise spans key areas such as building cost indicators, housing policy, land use practices, and the political economy of urban development.
